• What we collect: Your app settings (selected language, theme, alarm preferences, prayer calculation method)
• Storage: Stored locally on your device using Android SharedPreferences

2.3 Quran Reading Data

• What we collect: Last read surah, bookmarked ayahs, reading progress
• Storage: Stored locally on your device in an encrypted SQLite database
• Third-party sharing: Never shared with third parties

2.4 Quran Audio Playback

• What we collect: Last played surah, ayah, and selected reciter
• Storage: Stored locally on your device using Android SharedPreferences
• Audio files: Downloaded audio files are cached locally on your device for offline playback
• Third-party sharing: Never shared with third parties

2.5 Daily Azkar & Duas

• What we collect: Dua repetition counts and progress
• Storage: Stored locally on your device in an encrypted SQLite database
• Third-party sharing: Never shared with third parties

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

• ❌ Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
• ❌ Payment information
• ❌ Social media profiles
• ❌ Contacts or phone book data
• ❌ Photos, videos, or media files
• ❌ Other app data or browsing history

4. How We Use Your Data

1. Prayer Times Calculation: Your location is used to fetch prayer times from the Aladhan API
2. Qibla Direction: Your coordinates are used to calculate the direction to the Kaaba in Mecca
3. Backend Caching: Prayer times are cached on our server to reduce API calls and improve performance
   • Cache entry format: {latitude, longitude, date, calculation_method, prayer_times}
   • Cache retention: 2 years
   • NO personally identifiable information is stored

Islamic Prayer uses the following third-party services:

5.1 Aladhan API (Prayer Times)

• Service: aladhan.com
• Purpose: Fetching Islamic prayer times
• Data shared: Location coordinates, date, calculation method

5.2 Al-Quran Cloud API (Holy Quran)

• Service: alquran.cloud
• Purpose: Fetching Quran text and translations
• Data shared: None (API requests are anonymous)

5.3 EveryAyah CDN (Quran Audio)

• Service: everyayah.com
• Purpose: Fetching Quran audio files for recitation
• Data shared: None (anonymous requests for audio files)
• Storage: Audio files are cached locally on your device

5.4 Our Backend Server

• Server: rupcharcha.com (hosted by Contabo, Germany)
• Purpose: Caching prayer times and Quran data for faster access
• Data stored: Anonymous prayer time cache, Quran cache
• Encryption: All data transmitted over HTTPS
• Data retention: 2 years for prayer times, permanent for Quran data

6. Data Security

• Local Storage: All data on your device is protected by Android's built-in security
• Transmission: All API requests use HTTPS encryption
• Server Storage: Our backend uses secure MySQL database with restricted access
• No Cloud Backup: We do NOT backup your data to any cloud service

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data (all stored locally on your device)
• Delete your data (uninstall app or clear app data)
• Opt-out of location services (app functionality will be limited)
• Export your data (bookmarks and preferences can be exported as JSON - future feature)

8. Android Permissions

Required Permissions:

• ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION - For prayer times and Qibla direction
• ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION - Fallback for prayer times
• INTERNET - To fetch prayer times, Quran data, and Quran audio files
• ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE - To check if offline mode should be used

Optional Permissions (Requested Only When Needed):

• POST_NOTIFICATIONS - For prayer time alarms (Android 13+)
• SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM - For precise prayer time alarms
• USE_FULL_SCREEN_INTENT - To display full-screen alarm notification
• VIBRATE - For alarm vibration
• WAKE_LOCK - To ensure alarm plays even when screen is off

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Significant changes will be notified through the app.
